How Much Did You Make This Month?

I’m getting ready for Valentine’s Day, are you?  I have this cool little tree sitting on my desk, and I want to decorate it with red heart ornaments.  I just found some on eBay.  Hope they arrive soon!  I passed over a bunch of heart ornaments because I couldn’t tell if they were cute or not.  The pictures were fuzzy and made the ornaments look very unattractive.

Speaking of Valentine’s Day decorations, check out this neat wreath.  I love the picture.  It really stands out.   It’s for sale on eBay right now.  Click here to see the listing.

I’ve been having fun selling this month!  Selling on eBay is so much more enjoyable when you keep track of your finances.  Too many people don’t really know how much they’re making.  It’s kind of depressing.   Knowing how much you make each month is quite the motivator.  I speak from experience.

A few weeks ago, I purchased the 2014 edition of Easy Auctions Tracker.  It only cost me $50.  That’s so cheap and so worth it.  I spend at least one day a week processing returns and updating my EAT spreadsheet.  The spreadsheet sucks up info from PayPal and eBay so you don’t have to!  It’s your job to enter expenses and cost of goods sold.  EAT automatically generates profit and loss reports for each month, so you can see exactly how much you’re making!  If you’re interested in getting organized and would like to purchase the latest spreadsheet, click here!

  1. Thanks so much for the tip on Auction Tractor, looks like what I have been wanting. Hope I can learn all the ins and outs. The tutorial was helpful.

Here’s a tip: After EAT uploads your current sales, sort the listing according to date shipped. That way you don’t have to deal with listings that ended but did sell when you’re entering cost of goods sold.

I have been using EAT for about three years now. Thank you for suggesting it then. It is so easy, and easy is what I like best about accounting.

Yes, I love it, too. I was ready for the tax man at the end of December!
