  1. I just came back to eBay because the same thing happened to me. I sold a pair of vintage ruby/gold earrings to a lady who was considering buying the matching ring. We came to the agreement on the earrings, but she did not get the ring. The day she lost the ring is the same day she got the earrings in the mail. She destroyed the earrings, removing a ruby. I lost the case. Same reason as your case. She even wanted me to file for insurance replacement. I told her I needed the original packaging. She could not come u with it. Essentially she has been pulling e same scam multiple times since then. Leaving BAD reviews and ruining feedback scores. Please pay attention to feedback guys, but, I was one of the first…now she is doing it repeatedly.See for yourself…susuna11.

  2. Basic Store – how many listings are you allowed to have ?

A basic store comes with 250 listings. A starter store comes with 100 free listings.

What is your opinion on the state of eBay in the past year or so? It is such an inconsistent program for the last year. Does anyone have any consistency?

I think in order to make money on eBay, you have to treat it like a job. As long as you are listing consistently and listing items that are in demand, you will make money. Sellers also have to keep up on eBay policy and eBay’s recommendations. Like it or not, if you want to stay competitive, you need to be offering free shipping, participating in the promoted listings program, etc. etc. That’s just the way it is.

  4. Is there a way to request ebay to send me a list of items I have sold in the past 30 months ?

    Thanks

      Thanks for reading!

eBay only allows you to have access to 90 days of sales data. After that, you’re on your own. You could subscribe to Terapeak which lets you go back 1 full year. eBay recently purchased Terapeak, but from what I have heard, subscriptions will still offer more info than the information eBay will be offering for free.

    • You can look at your emails. Ebay always sends one when you sell. I keep a Word file w that info by year to look back including a photo of the item, etc.

There are a lot of Ebay listings for sheets now that claim “100% egyptian cotton or cotton, but upon reading the description of the listing, they are made from microfiber, not cotton. How would one alert ebay to this fraudulent activity? I used to be able to screen out microfiber when shopping for sheets by adding the 100% cotton phrase. It’s no good now.

      Thanks for posting!

You might want to contact the seller first. It’s possible they made a mistake. Otherwise, you can “report a seller.” Click “report item” on the bottom right side of the listing page. Hope the helps!

I recently heard about obtaining personal delivery from state to state by people traveling to earn extra money. Anyone heard of such a thing? There is a small table on EBay that I want to buy in the Tampa area and be delivered to the Columbus, Ohio area,

I have been selling on eBay for 15 years and never had a bad experience until today. A buyer did not read the material composition as posted on my listing and requested a refund which I denied. She filed a claim and eBay offers to help – only their form gives the seller no option but to accept the request for refund. Where is the sellers protection? They said they can’t prove it. However, if they looked at my listing they can clearly see the description. When I called customer service, they offered me no assistance whatsoever. How disappointing. eBay has competition now and I will need to consider other options given this experience.

Hi! You might try calling eBay again. How much was the item worth? I wouldn’t let one bad experience end your career as a seller. Did eBay give you the option to have the seller return the item?

I bought a apple iPhone 6s plus from eBay and after opening phone, I found phone is in dead condition and I am unable to put it on even after charging the phone battery .

I reported the matter on eBay customer service and after they have asked me to take the product to apple service station instead of replacing or giving my money .

It is eBay responsibility to give me a product in working condition why should I do all the running about now for taking the replacement from apple .

eBay guarantee seems to be fake promise .

Hi! Just open an “item not as described” case and eBay will cover you.

Would like to ask for help successful eBay business had a problem with a return I escalated and got little relief and conflicting answers then 2 days later they said I had one duplicate listing January 16 and October 15 so the restricted my sales for 7 days. Now I have close to 100 to relist now 200 to relist by reinstatement. @askebay says they want me to review listings to avoid doing it again. Now it’s more likely I will make a mistake. It’s illogical and punitive at best retaliatory at worst. Have you heard of this before

It was on and off for our business. Right now we are fighting a VeRo take down to which we have all proof submitted.

    Just recently found this: http://auctionessistance.com/fight-ebay-vero-violation/

Have read it & seeing if we can implement all of it in order to reinstate our listings as it has been a dent into our sales.

What type of an item was it?

  12. All I can say is that this was an amazing summer for our sales, in the month of August we did as much in sales as we did last holiday season. I say this because I am expecting for all of us to have the most profitable and amazing 4th QRT.

Best June yet, sales were up just a tad for July and August. Bread and Butter items have been selling well the past few days.

Me,too! And last month was our biggest month in years. Don’t want to jinx myself, but I do want to let everyone know that the buyers are out there!

  14. Check out my store I carry new with tags Polos by Ralph Lauren and lightly used clothing as well. My clothes are priced very low compared to your local retail stores. All of my clothes are 100% authentic, plenty of pictures to show you the proof. I do have 100% feedback on my store. Check it out if you have any questions contact me anytime.

  15. funguyfinds says:

Steaming gives me the opportunity to scrutinize clothing to find flaws, loose threads, holes, etc that I then note on the listing.

It’s also a way to eliminate the potential for bugs and critters that may have taken refuge in used clothing and infiltrate the rest of your inventory. I’ve gone through a couple of Jiffy professional steamers (bought used of course) and they are an essential part of my process so I can’t take a shortcut. Find a good system that works for you…like steam at night when its cool and take pictures in daylight. As far as pics go – find a setup where editing is minimal (cropping and brightness/contrast at most).
But if its a higher price item I take it a step further and do color correcting.

Find what works for you – I just need to feel that I’m doing the best I can do for my customers — which, like success, is different for everybody. Best Regards

I printed a shipping label for a T shirt I just sold, I noticed I put the wrong size in the title but the right size in the description. I sent a message 2 times in the last 12 hours to the buyer apologizing and asking if he still wants the item. I have not gotten a response. Should I still hold on to it? waiting for a response. I am very small time and losing shipping charges would be a huge loss for me.

eBay UK has recently changed the selling policy for personal sellers, we use to get free insertion weekends, where we could list up to 100 items and also list 100 items for under 99p per month. What we now get is 20 free listings per month & if you want to list any more it will cost you 35p to list each item or you can spend £19.99 for 100 free listings plus a reduced final value fee of 8%.
Talk about ripping off personal sellers, all so eBay can try and make more money. I’m now looking at using other auction sites.
