Last month, I announced that July would be our biggest month ever! Well…. it wasn’t. Far from it. LOL (Serves me right for choosing the slowest month of the whole year to get all motivated!)
When I made that announcement, I didn’t think about the fact that Fourth of July week is traditionally our slowest week of the whole year! Not only did I not reach my goal, but July was one of our worst months in …..forever! That’s right. May was incredible, June was strong, and July was absolutely terrible! For the last 12 months, we’ve been selling between $15-$18K a month. Last month, we got down to $11K. Yikes!
But things are picking up! It’s August 7th, and things are definitely picking up! The good news is that we got a ton of things listed in July. Our storage unit is almost empty. Yippee! Time to shop again!
This weekend we’ll be going to San Francisco. We’re going wine tasting on Treasure Island and shopping at the Goodwill flagship store! Should be fun! We’re hoping that San Francisco will have some high-profit items!
Speaking of high-profit items. Check this out. Although July moved along at a snail’s pace, we did sell some cool items! For example, a neighbor recently gave us a set of service manuals from a Buick he’d owned a few years back. He was going to throw them away! It took a while to sell these (in fact, one buyer claimed they were worth nothing), but we finally sold them for….
So. How was your July? (Please comment!)
